The conventional acid-clay rerefining process is environmentally unfriendly, and hence needs modification. An attempt is made in this paper to highlight various rerefining processes available. WebUsing rerefined base oils: Rerefined oil is used motor oil that undergoes an extensive rerefining process to remove contaminants to produce a good-as-new base oil. Additives are added to this base oil after rerefining to produce lubricants such as motor oil, transmission fluid and grease, etc.
