The minimum value of a stimulus required to activate a given sensory system is called the absolute threshold or absolute limen (AL). WebPsychophysical experiments have traditionally used three methods for testing subjects' perception in stimulus detection and difference detection experiments: the method of limits, the method of constant stimuli, and the method of adjustment (Snodgrass, 1975).
