Past mining, processing, and transport of uranium in the area has already left a toxic legacy of health, safety, and environmental damage to tribes and other local communities in northern Arizona . Any new mining will put these communities and the area’s unique resources at risk. WebCylindrospermopsin is a small alkaloid (i.e., a nitrogen-containing, naturally synthesized organic) toxin (Fig. 6 ). It is produced by members of a number of cyanobacterial genera, including Cylindrospermopsis, Aphanizomenon, Umezakia, Anabaena (now Dolichospermum ), Lyngbya, and Raphidiopsis.
